LOUIS-PHILLIPE CIVIC COUPE BUILD UP
Louis bought himself a powerfull motor setup for his civic coupe. After he finished installing the kit, he had drivability problems, and also an overheating issue. He brought us the car to tune it, but the overheating was too severe so we looked into the problem.A leak down test indicated a problem with the head gasket.Upon dismanteling of the head, we discovered a crack in the sleeve of cylinder # 3.Since the block has already been resleeved we decided the best way to go was with a used B18B block.Louis sent us a block in top notch condition. With a quick hone job, new bearings, gaskets, rings, type R pistons and a rebuilt head, this motor would be on its way to make some serious power. The cams that would be going into this setup were going to be Jun stage 3 .With a Hondata intake gasket, and an old Hondata stage 2 kit,Louis's motor put down almost 200 wheel horse power and over 130 foot pounds of torque.
Louis first visit to the track was succesfull, and he ran 14 flat at over 103 mph with a set of BF goodrich drag radials. With this set up, the car will be dropping into the 13's with some more passes. With some practice,Louis has been running some mid 13 second passes.13.50 on many occasions
Good luck Louis
